Hartford Lands First of 2012

The University of Hartford has created a steady recruiting pipeline into the state of Texas and the Hawks returned to the Lone Star State to begin their 2012 recruiting class.

Antoine Burrell, a six-foot-seven forward from Colony High School, committed to head coach John Gallagher on Tuesday.

As a junior, Burrell was a 4A All-Region Player while averaging 15.8 points and 8.1 rebounds per game.  He led his team to a 23-13 overall record and a spot in the 4A state regional final.

This summer, he ran with Deron Williams Elite on the AAU circuit and was rated as a top 50 prospect in the state by Texashoops.com.  Burrell is known as a long and athletic player who should be able to add versatility to Hartford's frontcourt.
