Hartford Goes South for Guard Tandem

First year head coach John Gallagher may have recently locked up his backcourt for the next four years with the additions of Wes Cole and Yolonzo Moore.

Cole, a five-foot-eleven combo guard, committed while on his official visit this weekend.  He averaged 14 points, 3 assists, 3 rebounds, and 2 steals per game last season as a junior at Woodlands High School and is best known for his ability to shoot the ball from behind the three-point arc.

Cole ran with Houston Select during the AAU season and selected Hartford over the Citadel and Southeast Missouri State.

A few days later Gallagher landed another commitment from the lone star state when Moore, a six-foot-one point guard from Akins High School in Austin, made a verbal commitment.  Moore had visited Hartford earlier in the fall.

Moore is a quick and athletic lead guard known for his competitive nature.  He averaged 15 points, 6 rebounds, 4 assists, and 3 steals as a junior and ran with Austin Ice on the AAU circuit.

Cole and Moore join 6’6” 245 lbs Jacoby Harrison, a Houston native, in Hartford’s recruiting class as the Hawks have clearly worked hard to build a recruiting pipeline to the state of Texas.
