Hardwick is the third Connecticut product, joining Putnam Science guard KeAndre Fair and St. Luke's guard Joel Boyce, to commit to Coppin State since Juan Dixon was named the program's new head coach less than two weeks ago. Dixon previously starred at Maryland and played in the NBA for many years.
A long and extremely bouncy athlete, Hardwick is young for his grade and has significant upside. He's started to develop a face-up game within the last year or so but is undoubtedly still just scratching the surface of his physical potential.
"We really liked how Juan Dixon understood Jordan's strengths and how to utilize him," former SCA head coach Tony Bergeron said. "We love the league and level for him. Jordan and his family loved the coaching staff and the fact that three Connecticut kids will attend!"
Hardwick is a longtime member of the Expressions Elite program and had even suited up for them during the first two weeks of the April live period, helping them to a 5-3 record mid-way through the EYBL regular season.
Hardwick is the sixth member of Springfield Commonwealth's 2017 class to earn a full athletic scholarship.
