Caleb Green 2017

Proctor Academy and D.C. Blue Devils point guard Caleb Green made a verbal commitment to Holy Cross on Friday night before announcing his decision via his twitter account on Saturday.

Green chose the Crusaders over other offers in conferences including the America East, Ivy and MAAC in addition to other offers in the Patriot League.

At 5-foot-10, Green has proven himself to be a rare exception to typical rules about the size necessary to play at the division I level, but his greatest attributes aren't ones that can be measured as he is a player full of intangibles and leadership skills and will consequently be a key cog in the development of Holy Cross' culture under second year head coach Bill Carmody.

Green is also a player who has continued to develop his game at each step in the process. He was known as a competitor, defender and floor general at a young age but has continued to develop his ball skills and consequently evolved as both a playmaker and shooter from behind the three-point line.

His commitment comes on the heels of Geo Baker's commitment to Rutgers last week. Together that tandem has served as the foundation of the Blue Devils AAU program over the years while also teaming up at Proctor Academy.

Below are some highlights of Green from the last year care of Next Best Basketball and Marauders Media on YouTube:
