Former Connecticut Star Earns Scholarship

Former Stratford High School (CT) star and Connecticut Basketball Club product Bernard “Shoody” Brantley recent accepted a full scholarship offer from Caldwell College.

A NCAA Division II school in New Jersey, Caldwell competes in the Central Atlantic Collegiate Conference North Division along with the likes of Post (CT), Dominican, Bloomfield, Nyack, Concordia, and Felician.

Brantley had a long and distinguished career at Stratford High School but opted to do a post-graduate season at Bull City Prep in North Carolina following his graduation.

A quick and versatile guard, Shoody is an excellent defender who can play on or off the ball on the offensive end.  He’s at his best going to the rim, but also has a bit of a throwback style mid-range game to accompany a good understanding of how to play.

He becomes the fifth member of last summer’s CBC team to earn a full athletic scholarship joining Paschal Chukwu (Providence), Obi Momah (Marist), Taylor Fortin (Saint Anselm), and Levy Gillespie (New Haven).
