ESPN releases updated national rankings 8-19
ESPN announced updated rankings with a new ESPN 100 for the class of 2020, ESPN 60 for the class of 2021, and ESPN 25 for the class of 2022. As usual, New England was well-represented.
Hassan Diarra, who last week took over as the top ranked prospect in New England, is again the first local product on the list as the Putnam Science Academy and PSA Cardinals guard is currently ranked 54th nationally. BABC forward Matt Cross makes his first appearance in the national rankings and is the first of four incoming Brewster Academy products to be included in the ESPN 100. Mass Rivals guard DeMarr Langford is next at 82, New England Rivals guard Kadary Richmond is at 94, and PSA Cardinals guard Jamal Mashburn Jr. is at 96.
Brewster Academy and Expressions Elite wing Terrence Clarke reamins a top five national prospect in the class of 2021, checking in at fourth overall while incoming Brewster Academy big man Alex Tchikou is 60th overall. Other familiar names include Expressions' big man Moussa Cisse at 10th overall, former MacDuffie big man Frank Kepnang at 21st, and Elite 75 Frosh/Soph alum Adam Sanogo at 57th.
The ESPN 25 does not currently include any local New England products but does have some familiar names including Dariq Whitehead and Zion Cruz who have both attended NERR events within the last year.
