ESPN announces final 2017 rankings

New England Recruiting Report | Wednesday, April 19th, 2017

ESPN announced their final rankings for the class of 2017 on Tuesday and, as usual, the list featured plenty of New England products.

Former Putnam Science guard Hamidou Diallo wasn't included after enrolling at Kentucky at mid-year, which made Tremont Waters the top ranked local prospect on the list. The Notre Dame West Haven and Expressions Elite product checked in at 32nd overall.

Only four spots behind was recent Providence commit Makai Ashton-Langford as the Brewster Academy and Mass Rivals product went virtually his entire career as a top 40 prospect in the country.

Rivers School and Expressions Elite forward Jermaine Samuels remained in the top 50, ending at 49th overall, and securing his spot among the top three New England prospects on the list.

Vermont Academy and New York Rens forward Jordan Nwora was one of the biggest risers on the list, jumping up nearly 30 spots as the Louisville commit has continued to establish himself as one of the best shooters in the nation while simultaneously improving his conditioning and body. New Hampton School and Expressions forward Kimani Lawrence, who is signed with Arizona State, was right behind as the two finished at 53 and 54 respectively.

Cushing Academy and Mass Rivals point guard Wabissa Bede was another player who climbed the list as the Virginia Tech bound guard finished 70th overall in the national class. Springfield Commonwealth Academy and PSA Cardinals forward Hasahn French made his debut in the 87th spot after his tremendous senior season.

Unsigned Brewster Academy guard Thomas Allen also made his debut in the national rankings after his MVP season in Class AAA of the NEPSAC as he grabbed onto the 100th spot.

Stay tuned to NERR later this week for final New England rankings in the class of 2017.
