ESPN Announces 2019 & 2020 Rankings

After announcing an updated ESPN 100 earlier this week, the ESPN 60 for the class of 2019 and ESPN 25 for the class of 2020 were announced on Thursday and Friday respectively.

Two New England prep products were ranked among the top 60 rising juniors as Chol Marial maintained his status within the top five prospects in the class while Akok Akok made his debut at 51st overall.

Marial, who finished his second consecutive season at Cheshire Academy, is rumored to be heading to a school in Arizona next year but similar rumors also spread last summer and Marial still elected to return to Cheshire where he made huge strides from his freshman season.

Akok's debut in the ESPN 60 comes after a huge spring on the Adidas Gauntlet where the rising junior established himself as both one of the best shot-blockers and three-point shooters in the entire league.

Those are the only two local prep products included among the top 60 so far but stay tuned as others on the list are reportedly considering moves to New England next fall.

The ESPN 25 ranks the top rising sophomore prospects in the country and while no one from New England has yet to play their way onto this level just yet, it is inevitably only a matter of time before some young prospects emerge on the national level.
