Elite 75 College Showcase Recap pt. 12

Following the Elite75 at Clark, we took a look at every squad who participated at the showcase. Here is a look at the final team from the event.

Brian Cloonan (Needham HS, MA) has always been a skilled guard with the ability to make plays for himself and others, but his body has evolved over the years. His ability to shoot from the perimeter combined with his tools on the defensive end, makes him one of the more intriguing guards in the field. Can take over a game in the blink of an eye the way he locks in and scores it at will. Translatable scoring ability that colleges are taking note of.

Matt St. Martin (Catholic Memorial, MA) is another player with great bloodlines, St. Martin makes his impact on both ends of the floor. Does all of the little things that contribute to wins and coaches dream of. Good touch around the basket with either hand, can take hits to finish with contact and get to the line. High IQ playmaker that consistently makes the right plays for others. Switchable defender who gets low, gives opposing ball handlers a hard time and forces turnovers.

Shea Wilder (Waltham HS, MA) is a coach's son who you can tell wants to be great and really works on improving his game. He’s highly competitive on both ends of the floor and has great length at 6’ 3”. Another knockdown shooter that is far from a 1 trick pony with proven ability to knock it down from all three levels. Possesses the skill set that will translate to the college level seamlessly.

Steph Barnes (Waltham HS, MA) is Wilders running mate during the high school season, he’s another player we have had our eye on for a while. He’s a true point guard who can get to his spots and uses his dribbles efficiently. While he is looking to distribute first, he can also score it himself. Works on the defensive end and makes up for his size by being a high motor defender who can guard multiple positions.

Sean Perri (Roxbury Latin, MA) is another coach's son who does a little bit of everything. He has great size on the wing at 6’4 and the ability to really stretch the floor. Really consistent three point shooter who can light it up, oftentimes finishing with a handful of treys at the end of a game. He can play and defend multiple positions, is vocal on the floor, and is all around a rock solid college prospect.

Patrick Mulholland (Natick HS, MA) is a pure scoring guard that defenses have to be aware of when he’s on the court. He can really shoot the ball from downtown, gets into his shots quickly and lets it fly. Has good touch on floaters when he gets downhill and into the paint. Highly intelligent player who makes the extra pass to get his teammates good looks at shots and produce wins.

Jackson O'Brien (Hudson HS, MA) is a captain for his Hudson Hawks high school team and it is evident when he is on the floor. O’Brien is an effective communicator encouraging his teammates and taking a leadership role, setting the tone with his work ethic. He is a versatile shooter who hits it off the dribble, standstill, and off the catch. High motor on the glass pulling down boards although he is not usually the tallest guy on the floor.

Roel Figueroa (Governor's Academy, MA) is a crafty guard who has a good handle to create space for good looks at pull-ups or opportunities to drive through the defense. Very athletic and has good burst to get downhill with speed. Smooth shooter who can really knock down the three ball and in the mid-range. Has quick feet on defense to move laterally and stay on his assignment, but can also switch when needed and apply pressure.

Evan Mirazimi (Northfield Mount Hermon, MA) is an all-around wing/forward that does what it takes to pull out wins. Mirazimi puts his work in both on the court and in the weight room and it shows on the floor. He is strong on the boards and holds tough box-outs and gets physical on the ball on defense. Smooth off the dribble on takes to the basket and finishes around the basket with soft touch on the ball. Long-range shooting ability is there as well.

Matt Leaver (Vermont Academy, VT) is a strong forward that runs the floor well and impacts the game on offense and defense. Bouncy and can get up for ferocious lobs when he wants to. Challenges the opposition to meet him at the rim and finishes through contact. Uses his muscle to rip boards off the rim and keep opposing players on his back. Locks in defensively as he moves his feet, can alter shot attempts and send them back.
