Ebanks Released from Letter of Intent

A couple of weeks ago we told you that Devin Ebanks would travel to Indiana for the Big Ten Tournament, where he would also get a chance to meet with officials from the school’s athletic department to discuss the future of the program.  Today, Jeff Goodman of Fox Sports is reporting that Indiana has released Ebanks from his National Letter of Intent, and that he will now consider four schools.

"I'm going to look for a school that had some of the same things I liked in Indiana," Ebanks told FOXSports.com on Wednesday afternoon. "I want to go somewhere I can develop, play right away and have a great relationship with my coach."

Although Ebanks hasn’t rule out Indiana all together, their chances certainly don’t look good.  As we reported earlier in the month Texas, Memphis, and Rutgers are all in consideration.

It has also been revealed that the mystery fourth school who Ebanks and his coaches have been mentioning in recent weeks has turned out to be West Virginia, as the Mountaineers are also expected to get a visit.

West Virginia is certainly a program on the rise as Bob Huggins and his staff have led them to an improbable run to the Sweet 16 with wins over Arizona and Duke in only their first season at the helm.

"Those are my top four [Texas, Memphis, Rutgers, and West Virginia] and the only ones I'll look at," he added to Fox Sports. "I'm going to schedule visits to all four of them."
