#E75 Frosh/Soph Flashback to ‘12
We are just one week away from the 2018 Elite 75 Showcase – Frosh/Soph Edition and our latest flashback takes us to 2012 when yet another future NBA player broke out.
Luis Montero was a sophomore at Wilbraham & Monson and absolutely dominant in his Elite 75 debut. Incredibly, it was just three years later that he was wearing a Portland Trail Blazers uniform. Almost equally dominant that day was fellow sophomore Terance Mann, who is now about to enter his senior season at Florida State. BallasTV captured those moments and more in their video recap from the day.
Perhaps the next biggest breakout performance in the sophomore class came from Steven Enoch who showed signs of things to come on his way to Louisville via UConn. Other future top 100 national prospects Wenyen Gabriel, Aaron Falzon, and Josh Sharma both returned for the second consecutive year, as too did current Penn star A.J. Brodeur.
The freshmen segment of the event proved to be a sign of things to come. Ian Sistare was arguably the most establishing prospect in the class after repeating his freshmen year but Terrell Brown (Pittsburgh), Tyrique Jones (Xavier), Christian Vital (UConn), Saul Phiri (LaSalle), Tshiefu Ngalakulondi, and Greg Kuakumensah (Niagara) ended up being among the next best in the class of 2016.
The Elite 75 Frosh/Soph will feature two session in 2019 giving each player increased opportunities for visibility, attention, and exposure. The North Edition will take place on Saturday, September 14th at the Dana Barros Basketball Club. The South Edition will take place on Sunday, September 15th at Connecticut College. Following both events, we'll release the list of the Elite 75 Freshmen and Sophomores one-by-one across all NERR social media platforms.
