Dorsey Commits to Jefferson
Wilbraham & Monson Academy and The House We Built guard Jeremiah Dorsey recently announced his commitment to Jefferson, a Division Two school in the CACC.
Before coming to WMA, Dorsey spent time at both Molloy HS (NY) and MacDuffie School. During his first year at MacDuffie in the 2019-20 season, he played key minutes and flashed his potential as just a 15 year old.
After the COVID-19 Pandemic, Dorsey chose to make the move to WMA. His debut season was certainly one to remember. He ran the show for a squad that earned NEPSAC AA’s top seed and a spot in the National Prep Championship quarterfinals. Dorsey’s standout play also earned ALL-NEPSAC honors.
He was the one returning starter on this year’s WMA squad. His leadership, experience, and playmaking at key moments were all key in the Titans making the AA Playoffs again as a five seed.
Dorsey played his club basketball for The House We Built. They competed in the Hoop Group Showcase League. He had a particularly impressive showing in the July Hoop Group Grassroots Basketball Finale event, averaging 14 points, 6 assists, and 2.8 steals.
“Jeremiah found a great home in Jefferson,” said WMA head coach Mike Mannix. “Coach Reilly and McGee spent a lot of time getting to know Jerry as a person and player. They have found a young guy that is high level as both.”
“He will be a floor general at Jefferson like he was for us. I look forward to seeing him lead the Rams to great success during his career.”
Dorsey becomes the fifth member of WMA’s 2023 class who has finalized their plans to play college basketball next season. He is the third who will be competing in a scholarship level program.
