Diarra Set to Announce Friday
One of the top big men in New England's 2016 class is ready to make an early college commitment.
Mamadou Diarra will announce his verbal commitment during a Friday morning press conference and is set to choose between UConn and VCU. NCAA rules will preclude him from signing a National Letter of Intent until November.
Diarra confirmed the news via his twitter account:

— Mamadou Diarra (@bornready_mama) May 18, 2015Diarra was one of the most recruited prospects in New England prior to cutting his list, being offered scholarship by over 25 schools at one point or another.
The New York native first arrived at Putnam Science Academy last year and is now set to attend Woodstock Academy, along with the other members of his team, as a senior. He has come up the ranks with the New York Jayhawks on the AAU circuit and is now one of the team's leaders in their first season competing in the Under Armour Association.
He would be the first player to commit to either UConn or VCU in the 2016 class.
