Davyn deJongh Commits to Navy

This past Wednesday, Hotchkiss/Rens United 2024 6’2” point guard Davyn deJongh announced his commitment to Navy to compete in the Patriot League at the Division I level…

We have gotten to know deJongh quite well over the years, as he began his New England Prep career as a freshman with the Bearcats of Hotchkiss, contributing right away to an already talent-filled squad. He had earned numerous standout recognitions prior to even beginning his first year.

Grinding it out through the infamous COVID years, he continued improving his game and getting onto the radars of college coaches. As a junior, he got right back to it, dropping 21 points and earning MVP honors in a big win over Our Saviour Lutheran (Prep).

He continued his success this past spring/summer competing on the Marquee Circuit with Rens United, averaging near 20 points per game, as well as a handful of assists and a few steals. He also impressed at our Super 16 Showcase. Later this past summer, he received the offer from Navy—his first from the Division I level, and where he would ultimately choose to go.

“Thanks to my Hotchkiss coaches—Coach Talhaoui, Coach Mitchell, and especially, Coach Busacca” said deJongh in speaking with NERR. “Your support, mentorship, and infinite amount of time spent together have been invaluable.”

“Thank you Brian King for being by my side throughout this journey and helping me to grow as a player and young man,” he continued, emphasizing the work put in by Pro Level Titans Executive Director Brian King. “Thank you for the countless hours spent in the gym and on the road.”

“To my AAU coaches, Jay David and Andrew Becil, thanks for allowing me to compete and showcase my skills,” he concluded, highlighting Rens United Coach Andrew Becil.

It will be exciting to follow Davyn deJong as he finishes his prep career and heads to the Patriot League to compete at the Division I level for Navy…
