Dahlel Done for NESCAC School

Belmont Hill swingman Hilal Dahlel made a verbal commitment to Middlebury earlier this week, pending acceptance of his early decision application.

Dahlel took to his twitter account to announce his decision.

A product of the Metro Boston AAU program, Dahlel spent two weeks in Kentucky during this summer’s July evaluation period but made a big impression locally before leaving.

He began the month with a strong performance at the Hoop Mountain All-Academic Camp and was particularly impressive in the days following at the BasketBull Summer Championships in Springfield, attracting scholarship level attention in the process.

The southpaw was known primarily for his three-point shooting early in his career, and continues to make that a big part of his game now, but has also diversified his game quite a bit over the last year or so. He’s now much more capable of making plays off the dribble and is also a deceptively good passer.

His junior season highlights are available on Hudl.

Dahlel is believed to be the first player to commit to Middlebury in the 2015 class.
