Cummins’ Recruitment Heating Up

Westboro, Massachusetts native Evan Cummins had a very productive first season at Northfield Mount Hermon last year.  As only a sophomore he was the first big man off the bench for a team that advanced all the way to the finals of the National Prep Championship.

Cummins parlayed his succesful season into an even better spring and summer on the grassroots summer.  He was one of the top performers at the New England Elite 75 Showcase in early July and earned rave reviews while running with the New England Playaz for the rest of the month, especially in Las Vegas as the Adidas Super 64 Showcase.

Now, Cummins returns to NMH as a junior with a handful of scholarship offers from the likes of Providence, UMass, St. Joe's, Richmond, Davidson, Harvard, Penn, Florida Atlantic, and Boston University.

But beyond that, Cummins has a long list of high-majors who are expressing interest and have upcoming trips to the NMH gym to watch the six-foot-eight forward work out this fall including the likes of Notre Dame, Stanford, Wake Forest, Georgia Tech, USC, Boston College, and Purdue according to NMH head coach John Carroll.

"Evan pursues excellence in everything that he does," said NMH head coach John Carroll.  "It is such a luxury to coach a kid who does not bring an ego or allow his hubris to get in the way of his goals and that is certainly the case with Evan.  He has improved each and every day he has been at NMH and any college program can expect him to do the same thing."
