Christian Morris Headed to the Big East

Christian Morris has been a popular name among college coaches and basketball fans for a long time.  The talented center has been at the South Kent School since his sophomore year where he has developed the reputation as one of the most physical interior players in the country.

Additionally, it was only a year ago when Morris was featured on Fox Sports’ The Best Damn Sports Show for breaking two different backboards last summer, the first at the famous Rucker Park in New York and the second at the Nike Peach Jam AAU Tournament.

Now the 6’8 center has ended his recruiting process and selected Rutgers University in the Big East Conference.  At Rutgers Morris will make an immediate contribution to their frontline as he is an absolute beast in the paint.

However, before arriving at New Jersey’s public university he will finish his summer AAU season with Team Takeover and then return to South Kent for his senior season.  With Team Takeover, Morris stars with one of the countries’ most talented teams, and also one that features quite a few New England prep school products including Devin Ebanks, Quasim Pugh, and Darius Gabriel.

At South Kent Morris will be asked to play a leadership role in his third season at the school.  Morris will team with the backcourt of Isaiah Thomas and Mark Lyons to form the core of a South Kent team that will hope to contend for a national championship.

Morris was also being recruited by the likes of Florida, Texas, Virginia, West Virginia, Wake Forest, and Memphis among others.
