Christian David Commits to Butler

Vermont Academy swingman Christian David made a verbal commitment to Butler on Saturday night, announcing his decision over Twitter.

David took official visits to Butler, Creighton and Pittsburgh over the course of the last six weeks and also previously considered Miami and Oregon.

The 6-foot-7 swingman made a major impression in his first season in New England, exploding onto the scene last fall as one of the most talented newcomers in New England and going on to help Vermont Academy win the NEPSAC AA championship.

Unfortunately, it was in that championship game that David would tear his ACL and consequently miss the entire spring and summer as a result. Nevertheless, he had already solidified himself as not only a high-major prospect but also a top 100 national recruit.

What makes David so unique is the combination of his perimeter size, a knockdown shooting stroke from behind the arc and also a very high basketball I.Q. He has a type of instinctive feel for the game that can't be taught and consequently projects as maybe even a better college player than he is high school player because of how seamlessly he'll fit into offensive structure.
