Bunting Lands A10 Offer

Tabor Academy and Expressions Elite big man Jesse Bunting picked up his second division I scholarship offer on Thursday and it was a big one as Atlantic 10 champions St. Joseph’s came calling.

Holy Cross became the first division I school to put forth a concrete scholarship offer earlier this year while Northeastern and St. Bonaventure have also been frequent visitors to the Tabor Academy gym.  San Diego, Buffalo, Pepperdine, Tulsa, UNC-Asheville, Vermont, and Quinnipiac have also expressed varying degrees of interest according to Tabor head coach Chris Millette.

It was little more than a year ago that Bunting was a relative unknown despite averaging 20 points and 11 rebounds for North Plymouth High School in Massachusetts, but he quickly made a name for himself upon joining Expressions’ EYBL squad and providing a valuable interior presence off the bench behind the likes of Abdul-Malik Abu.

Bunting transferred to Tabor Academy for the 2013-2014 school year, repeating his junior year and reclassifying to 2015.

Now, after drawing wide-ranging division I interest for the better part of the last year, the St. Joseph’s offer could quickly push his recruitment to the next level as other schools will likely feel pressure to follow suit with an offer of their own if they intent to keep recruiting him.

Bunting is suiting up for his second season on the EYBL circuit with Expressions and is heading to Dallas this weekend for session II.
