Brown Announces for GW

New Hampton School and BABC point guard Shandon Brown announced his commitment to George Washington University on Saturday during a ceremony at the Vine Street Community Center in Boston.

Shortly after the ceremony concluded, Brown took to his twitter account to confirm his commitment to the Colonials.

Brown is widely known as one of the most competitive, dedicated, and hard-nosed players in New England. At 5-foot-9, he may be smaller than most D1 players, especially at the level of the Atlantic 10 Conference, but there's no measuring the size of his heart and that is the reason why he has been able to achieve the levels of success we've seen in both the NEPSAC as well as the EYBL.

Brown previously starred at Beaver Country Day before transferring to New Hampton School last season and has played for BABC throughout the course of his high school career. He is the second BABC product to commit to GW in the last two years as he joins Justin Mazzulla, who will begin his freshmen season this year.

Aside from his intangibles, GW is getting a skilled guard and proven shot-maker who is especially dangerous pulling up off the dribble, which he can do from well beyond the three-point line as well as in the mid-range area.

Below are highlights from Brown's junior season at New Hampton.
