Boston Warriors/Mass Elite College Night - Event Recap
The Boston Warriors and Mass Elite AAU programs combined for a joint showcase Tuesday night at Waltham High School for college and prep school coaches alike. Players participated in drills, stations and games to showcase their talents in a variety of situations.
Here are some of the top prospects from the showcase that impressed college coaches and spectators in attendance:
Lyron Bennett – Tech Boston (2019) – Probably the most consistent player on the court all night, Bennett runs the team well, sees the court, can shoot the three and has tough pull up.
Jalen Enchevarria – St Mary’s Lynn (2019) – Although undersized at 5’9”, he competes with players much bigger. A high level three-point shooter, he is working on getting to the rim and really gets after it on the defensive end.
Malachi Hazelton – Bedford (2020) – With good perimeter size, a strong body, and the ability to play above the rim, he’s a physical presence and active on both ends of the floor.
Kevin Constant – Central Catholic (2019) – Constant has a great body type and is strong going to the basket. He is also a high level rebounder capable of defending multiple positions.
Casey McLaren – Newburyport (2019) – McLaren is a high academic prospect with good size and length on the wing. He handles the ball well, gets to the rim, and competes on the offensive end.
Mark Barrett – Brookline (2019) – A tough four-man who can step out and make the three, Barrett also battles on the boards and has a good feel for the game
Pete Kapanides – Bedford (2019) – A rugged lefty who constantly battles on both ends, Kapanides plays bigger than his size near the hoop and has a developing stroke from the arc.
Jack Scotnicki – Vermont Academy (2019) – He is a knockdown shooter from long-range who also moves well without the ball and finds open space to free himself from behind the arc.
Jack Matuszewski – Wakefield (2019) – He is an inside presence and very effective on the block but at 6’6 he also has the versatility to defend big men and wings alike.
Scotty Montefusco – Revere (2020) – One of the best long range shooters in the gym, Montefusco can play both guard positions and is said to be improving at a rapid rate.
