Boen Heading to Stonehill

Michael Boen, a six-foot-four senior swingman from Mansfield High School in Massachusetts, made a verbal commitment to Stonehill over the weekend, becoming the first player to commit to head coach Chris Kraus in the 2015 recruiting class.

Boen is a true three sport athlete at Mansfield and helped lead them to the Division I South semifinals last year on the hardwood. This season he’s poised to take on an even bigger role following the graduation of Rocky DeAndrade.

Boen’s summer was equally productive as he starred for the Mass Premier Elite AAU squad, helping them to an AAU Division II national championship.

The southpaw swingman is a versatile talent and solid athlete with good size on the perimeter and a wealth of intangibles. He owns some high level slashing tools, knows how to play without the ball in his hands, and will potentially be able to play and defend multiple positions at the division II level as his frame continues to fill out.

He joins what will be a veteran laden Stonehill squad next year, allowing him the opportunity to learn under six seniors and then potentially step into a bigger role as a sophomore.

Below are highlights from his junior season at Mansfield:
