BC Lands Thompson
Brimmer & May and Mass Rivals 2021 forward Gianni Thompson announced his commitment to Boston College on Sunday.
His pledge means that he will be staying close to home, as Brimmer & May is located within a mile from BC's campus.
It also means he'll be reunited with a trio of former teammates as he is the fourth Rivals product to commit to the Eagles within the last 18 months following Makai Ashton-Langford (who transferred from Providence), DeMarr Langford, and Justin Vander Baan.
Thompson announced his decision via his social media accounts.

Thompson followed that initial post with a second tweet, thanking both Tom Nelson and Vin Pastore, among others.
"Gianni and I started working together three years ago. I painted a picture and he went to work multiple times a day, six days a week for the past three years," Nelson said. "He's improved in every aspect of his game because of this determination, and you can't teach that. He's able to shoot, post-up, take defenders off the dribble and use pin-down screens and flair screens to knock down shots. His versatility is so intriguing."
Thompson averaged 19 points and 9 rebounds per game as a junior, earning All-NEPSAC honors for the first time after being named honorable mention as a sophomore.
He is the fifth member of the Rivals' 2021 class to commit to a division I school.
Below are highlights from last winter along with analysis of what he'll bring to Boston College.
