Babson College NEPSAC Showcase Standouts - Part One

NERR scout Dylan Thayer was on hand at Babson College in Wellesley, MA for the NEPSAC Showcase his past weekend. In case you missed any of the action, here is a rundown from him on some of his part one standouts.

Nigel James of @CushingBBball has had a huge spring.

The shifty guard has a handle that keeps defenders on their toes, finishes through traffic on both sides of the basket, and has natural vision as a passer.

Will Davis (@WillxDavis33) of @BridgtonHoops caught my eye.

Ryder Frost of Phillips Exeter stood out.

The big wing is fluid with the ball, knocked down shots off the catch + dribble, and made timely passes to cutting teammates.

Omar Kulenovic of @BerkBearsHoops is an intriguing forward.

Looking forward to tracking Sage Baptiste of @TaborHoops

The 6’ 6” Forward operated well down in the post, showed flashes of three point shooting potential, cleaned up the glass and held down his spots on defense.

‘25 guard Barrett Loer of @sgboyshoops is gaining traction.

The 6’ 6” wing is lights out from distance but can score from all over, has great bounce and showed that by making a highlight-reel block, pinning the ball on the backboard.

A name to keep an eye on this year in the NEPSAC is Rashad McCormick of Phillips Andover.

Keyshuan Tillery of New Hampton has continued to shine.

The guard is patient, waiting for holes to open up and attacks. Scores it from all over and thrives in transition with his speed.

Keeping an eye on Christian Jeffers of @cburyboysbball this season

The strong, 6’ 5” wing gets downhill quick and is not afraid of contact. Knocks down shots from all over the floor and is switchable on defense.

Reigning state champion from Worcester North, Ty Tabales has joined the New Hampton school.

The point guard made an impact in his first appearance as he knocked down three’s from all around the arc. Good handle and distributor as lead guard.

Ryan Mela of @Newman_Hoops had a big outing this morning.

The 6’ 6” wing hit a number of pull-up trey’s off the dribble, drove through traffic finishing through contact and getting to the line. Created looks for others with his passes.

Ebuka Okorie of @CushingBBball is a true 2025 who can compete at the next level.

The point guard scores it from all 3 levels, has a lightning quick first step and is a tenacious on-ball defender who forces many steals.

Was impressed by Kingston Walker of @LC_BoysBBALL

The 6’ 6” CG can score it in a variety of ways and has extreme bounce to finish above the rim. Crafty with the ball, dishes it out to his teammates.

Was very impressed with Umari Seney’s 23-24 season debut for @BCABoysVBB

The 6’ 2” guard displayed his long distance marksmanship hitting a number of three’s. Made some plays driving towards the rim. Bounce to throw down with force.

Mason Blackwood of @NewHamptonHoops stood out this weekend.

6’ 7” wing that seeks out contact and attacks the paint with intensity. Had a number of tough finishes on both sides of the basket. Strong rebounder.
