BABC Wins AAU 19u Championship

The Boston Amateur Basketball Club captured their latest AAU gold medal on Sunday when they won the 19-and-under national championship at Disney's Wide World of Sports just outside of Orlando, Florida.

BABC dominated the field. They scored three easy wins in pool play by knocking off SOYSA 79-50, the RAP  Suns 56-33, and the Spartanburg Spartans 70-37. Their 3-0 pool play record earned them a first round bye before knocking off Ohio Swagger (75-46) in the quarterfinals, UIC5 (78-56) in the semis, and the RAP Stars 74-43 in the final.

The squad consisted of Cole Swider, Dimon Carrigan, Jakigh Dottin, Shandon Brown, Alex Christie, Maurice Works, Caden Dumas, Jared Whitt, and Will Phelan

The is BABC's 20th AAU national championship, and 31st national championship game, since the program was founded in 1977 by Leo Papile and their second consecutive 19u AAU championship.

The BABC 10th grade team, led by head coach Britney Papile, is also in Orlando and finished in 3rd place for the 16-and-under nationals last week that were eventually won by fellow Nike program the Albany City Rocks. This marked the 52nd AAU Final Four in BABC history.
