Amdy Ndiaye Commits to Pittsburgh

This past weekend, Putnam Science Academy/NY Jayhawks 2024 6’10” forward Amdy Ndiaye announced his commitment to the Pittsburgh Panthers for the 2024-25 season. He also received other offers, including from Eastern Michigan and College of Charleston.

Ndiaye only recently entered New England, as he spent prior seasons with Long Island Lutheran (“LuHi”). He earned numerous honors, including being named to Newsday’s Top 100 Players on Long Island list two consecutive years, the Arby’s Classic All-Tournament Team, the Hoophall Classic Standouts list two consecutive years, and the Metro Classic Top-Performers list.

Ndiaye also helped lead LuHi to back-to-back NYSSWA Class-AA State Championship appearances, in which they finished as the 2022 State Runners-Up and the 2023 State Champions. He was named a standout for his postseason performance both years, also earning 2023 NYSSWA Class-AA All-State Recognition for his performance throughout the season.

This past summer, Ndiaye announced that he would be transferring to the reigning National Prep Champions Putnam Science Academy and reclassifying into the Class of 2024. It took no time for his Division I interest to ramp up, earning his offer from Pitt in September.

Ultimately, after taking some extra time to weigh his options, Amdy Ndiaye has chosen to bring his talents to Steel City and join Pittsburgh in the ACC from the 2024-25 season onward. Before stepping onto the court as a Panther, we eagerly anticipate witnessing Amdy's debut in New England this upcoming season with Putnam Science.
