Alan Branch Commits to Central Connecticut

Alan Branch is a tough, wiry strong guard, who has a good perimeter shot with deep range. Branch’s strength and toughness make him a perfect fit for Head Coach Howie Dickenman’s system.

Branch will join a Blue Devil team that is coming off a great year finishing second in the NEC with a record of 13-5, going 18-11 overall, and advancing to the semi-finals of the conference tournament before falling to the eventual champion Monmouth.

Branch is originally from Fresno City, Texas just outside of Houston where he attended Hightower High School. After his senior year concluded last Spring he opted to play for the Houston Superstars during the July live period and then attend Lee Academy for a post-graduate year this season.

The Lee Academy team could be one of the most improved prep teams in New England with newcomers Chris Baez (6’4, post-graduate, guard), Nate Tomlinson (6’1, junior, guard) Tomasz Kwaitkowski (7’1, post-graduate, center), and Branch joining Trevon Wilcher (6’8, senior, F, committed to UMass) and Corey Bingham (6’2, senior guard) for first year head coach Carl Parker. Lee Academy will be open the season at Jeff Goodman’s National Prep Showcase.
