Adams Arrives at Notre Dame Prep

Christmas came late for Notre Dame Prep but they will take it nonetheless.

Steven Adams, the international sensation who is already committed to Pittsburgh, arrived at Notre Dame Prep late last week where he will spend the rest of the school year.

“He arrived with a gym bag and a guitar.  He’s my kind of kid,” Notre Dame Prep head coach Ryan Hurd said with a smile.  “In all seriousness, he’s a really neat kid.”

Neat and dominant.

Hurd says that the first 48 hours have been comprised primarily of individual workouts but that Adams has already impressed with not just his size and athleticism, but also his skill set.

“He’s been consistently shooting the ball out to 22 feet,” Hurd said.  “Most of all, he’s already shown a great work ethic and desire to get out there on the floor with his teammates.”

Adams is expected to be in uniform this weekend when Notre Dame plays three back to back games beginning Saturday at the BABC Prep Classic, when Adams will match-up with Nerlens Noel as Notre Dame faces Tilton at 3:00p.m.

Notre Dame will be back in action a day later at the Spalding Hoop Hall Classic when they meet Noah Vonleh and the New Hampton School in a game that will be televised live by ESPN3.
