2024 Guards to Keep an Eye on at the #S16
We will be talking about some 2024 guards to watch at this weekend's #S16 at Connecticut College and the surrounding CT shoreline area.
Leonidas Vlogianitis 6’2 Guard (Crown Basketball/Cheshire Academy): Vlogianitis is a heady guard who makes timely cuts, drains spot-up treys, and hits runners when attacking closeouts. He won 2022-23 Conference A2 Player of the Year at Garden City HS.
Jay Jones 6’4 Guard (Middlesex Magic/Rivers School): Jones is a big guard who spaces the floor and creates shots for others. He currently holds eight Division One offers from schools such as Bucknell, Holy Cross, and Columbia.
Kur Teng 6’4 Guard (Mass Rivals/Bradford Christian): Teng is a volume-scoring guard who can hit shots from deep or in the mid-range. The top 50 ranked national prospect is committed to Michigan State.
James LaFrance 6’3 Guard (Rens United/Newman School): LaFrance is a sharpshooting guard with strength and range well beyond the arc. He hit 18 three-pointers in five games at April’s Marquee Hoops DC Jumpoff event.
Christian McClease 6’3 Guard (Project Triple Threat/Choate Rosemary Hall): McClease is a two-way guard with cutting ability, long-range shooting, and quickness defending on the ball. He finished his career at Wilbur Cross with 1,296 points.
Azmar Abdullah 6’3 Guard (Basketball Club Rhode Island/Vermont Academy): Abdullah is a good-sized guard who can play on or off the ball. He currently holds Division One scholarship offers from American, NJIT, New Hampshire, and Fairleigh Dickinson.
Jacob Henderson 6’1 Guard (Connecticut Elite/Capital Prep): Henderson is a big-bodied guard who makes shots from long-range and overpowers defenders when getting downhill. He became Capital Prep’s first ever 1,000 point scorer this past season.
Jason Robinson 6’3 Guard (New Haven Heat/Notre Dame Prep): Robinson is a smooth guard who hits pull-up treys and scores layups using either hand. He earned Division Two CIAC Coaches Association honors this past season at Crosby HS.
