2024 Frosh/Soph North #E75 - The Guards pt. 2

Today we continue on with the guards who came out to the Massachusetts edition of the Frosh/Soph Elite 75. A very large group with a wealth of potential college talent, here’s another list of guys who caught our eye.

Josiah Reyes, Worcester - The Worcester native announced in the spring that he was moving from Doherty High School to Class AA with Worcester Academy, and was a standout at the showcase. Reyes brings a sound game to the guard spot with a low center of gravity to his dribble, scoring skills and toughness. As he enters his sophomore year with the Hilltoppers, he becomes an intriguing prospect to monitor.

Tyrell Robertson, Burlington (VT) - Entering his freshman year at Burlington High School in Vermont's capital, Robertson looks to be a guard to know about in the VPA. He's got good pull-up shooting ability in both the mid-range and from three, but thrives as well as an off-ball shooter. With a basketball bloodline, expect to see his name come up out of the Northern state.

Yadiel Rodriguez, North Providence - A pass-first point guard out of Rhode Island, Rodriguez brings a dependable skillset to the position. He consistently makes good decisions to create open shots for others, and can thread passes through the defense. As a scorer, he does well attacking the basket, has an outside shot, and can pile up baskets when he gets going.

Devin White, Beaver Country Day - In his return to the Frosh/Soph showcase, White had another good showing. He's a strong playmaking guard with some moves in his game. He's got some hesitations and spin moves to get the shots he wants around the floor, and finishes through contact around the rim. White will play a big role at the point guard spot for Beaver this season.

Sawyer Judkins, Burlington (VT) - Judkins came into the Frosh/Soph with some momentum having had a standout freshman season at Burlington HS last winter. He's a quick pass-first point guard that sprays the ball to open teammates all over the court. He does a good job of drawing in defenders before kicking the ball out to shooters, and has a bag of moves to score the ball when attacking the basket.

Sage Kennedy, Macduffie - Incoming Macduffie guard Sage Kennedy was an eyecatcher at Frosh/Soph. Kennedy brings a blossoming skillset to the court as he has a solid IQ, makes spot-up treys, and reads the floor to make sound passes to open teammates. As he continues to work on his game and build up his body, make sure to check in on his progress.

Caiden Manning, NMH - Joining the Hoggers of NMH, Manning had a strong showing at the showcase. He was lights-out from the three-point line, knocking down shots in a variety of different ways throughout the night. His communication and leadership amongst his teammates was notable, and we look forward to getting more viewings of the freshman moving forward.

Uriah Williams, St. Andrews - Returning for a second showing in the Frosh/Soph Elite 75, Williams demonstrated notable growth. Our scouts came away very impressed with his shooting versatility as he knocked shots from behind the arc both off the catch and off the dribble. He makes good reads as a lead guard and moves very well without the ball in his hands.

Diego Laffitte, NMH - Laffitte made plays all night at the Elite 75 that stood out. He's got some crafty abilities as a guard and finished relentlessly around the basket using his body and twitch. He's got a fluid form to his three-point shot and did a great job of positioning himself to fight for rebounds off the rim.

Pascal Munezero, Burlington (VT) - The Vermont prospect plays with speed, running all over the court and bringing contagious energy to the floor. He makes plays defensively with good timing and footwork to keep himself in front of opposing guards. He's got some finishing skills plus shooting ability, and looks to be a prospect of note at the powerhouse in Burlington.

Mo Abdirahman, Burlington (VT) - The sophomore guard caught our eye early on at the showcase, standing out immediately in drills and half-court games. He's a quick slasher with burst to his first step to get past defenders. His multi dimensional shooting ability was notable as he knocked down shots off the dribble and off the catch, relocating to get open without the ball.

Joshua Roux, Andover - From multiple viewings of Roux in the Zero Gravity Exposure Series over the spring/summer, it was his shooting that caught our eye and continues to stand out. Roux pull's up with confidence and knocks down shots in a variety of ways. His off-ball movement stands out, as well as his willingness to get others involved with his passing chops.

Leander Buckley, Burlington (VT) - Another promising guard making his way down from Vermont, Buckley's impact on the game was definitely felt at the showcase. He brings some size to the position with athleticism and finesse to finish around the basket on either side. His two-way play is impressive as well as he has quick feet and is a ballhawk on defense, forcing steals and blocking shots.

Maddox Poulette, Goffstown - Coming down from New Hampshire, Poulette put his guard skills on display. He has a tight crossover and a quick handle on the ball to shield it from defenders. He can score off the dribble and runs the offense as a point guard with potential to watch moving forward.

Dylan Coren, Concord Academy - With a quick hesitation and body control to keep defenders off balance, Concord's Dylan Coren brings some flashy skills to the guard spot. He does a great job of utilizing his combination of speed and handling to fly past defenders on drives to the basket. His passing vision stands out as well as he can make a cross-court pass and create for his teammates.

Adam Malima, Nobles - Malima showed off a pretty well-rounded skill set in his outing at the Elite 75, making plays on both ends on the floor. He knocked down shots in the mid-range and showed off his pull-up shooting abilities off the dribble. On defense he plays with high energy staying in front of his man, and timing himself well, notably making a big block at the event.

Hunter Berry, Wachusett - In his second run in the premier underclassmen exposure event, it was Berry's quick release and accuracy that stood out. He has a quick stop-and-go game with the ball in his hands, managing to stop on a dime for pull-up attempts. His shot's have a smooth arc on them, falling often, and his passing vision is another impressive dimension to his game.

Jack Charchaflian, Winchester - The Winchester native's passing skills at the point guard position were very eye-catching. He's got vision and uses his dribble to move around the court to get others open. It was his pure passing skill though that stood out as he whipped cross-court passes to open shooters and consistently made the right decision.

Tysen Teixeira, Bishop Stang - Teixeira's improvement year over year has been notable as he's continued to grow as a scorer and exude confidence with the ball in his hands. He made a number of tough pull-up shots with a clean release on the ball, finished around the rim with both hands, and made quick reads as a passer to get others involved.

Will White, Boston Latin - White brings an impressive guard skillset to the court, with a sound game in many different facets. His handling is impressive as he keeps the ball low to the floor and out of reach from opposing defenders. He's quick with the ball, can really get hot from outside and hit three's and has impressive passing vision to find open teammates.

Freddie Bacon , NMH - The defensive intensity brought to the court by the incoming NMH sophomore was impressive. He crowded passing lanes all night, and forced steals all over the court. On the offensive end he converted a number of shots from three-point land.

Zack Sangermano, Salem (NH) - Making his debut at the Frosh/Soph Elite 75, a year after his brother Nick came and showed, Zack Sangermano put his shooting abilities on display. His release on the ball comes off very clean and he has a fluid shot form to go along with it. He showed tons of confidence shooting at different levels and looks to have upside in the New Hampshire class of 2027.

Stay tuned as we continue going through the guards who went to the Connecticut edition of the event.
