2024-25 Prep Profiles Series: Bridgton Academy

The Bridgton Wolverines enter the 2024-25 season with a completely new roster. Coming off an impressive season that included a run to the AAA playoffs and an appearance in the National Prep Championship, head coach Whit Lesure and his squad will look to carry that momentum into the new campaign.

Wings and Forwards

Jake Cofield joins the Wolverines for a post-grad season after an accomplished high school career at Catholic Memorial. The 6’9” big man is a strong shot-blocker with soft hands in the post and has recently picked up a scholarship offer from Morehouse College.

Maine native Drew Veilleux brings valuable 3-and-D skills to the wing, while Blair Thomas adds high-volume scoring from Delaware.

Dantae Clarke, a 6’8” South Shore native, adds more length to the frontcourt. Known for his rim-protection and soft touch in the paint, he will be a key presence inside.

Benny Old Person-Harlow, a 6’4” wing, has drawn scholarship interest for his sharp shooting and rebounding ability.

Guards

Ajay Lopes, Theo Moore, Connor Parkes, and Abdiel Zapata are familiar faces in New England basketball, all opting for a post-grad season at Bridgton after strong high school careers in the region.

Lopes brings his crafty skills to the guard position along with impressive on-ball defensive prowess and championship experience, having led Wareham to back-to-back state titles. Moore is a gritty guard who plays through contact, makes smart decisions, and can shoot from deep.

Zapata has a solid frame at the guard spot, using it effectively on both ends—whether driving to the rim or playing tough defense. Parkes arrives from Connecticut with a reputation for rebounding and strong defensive instincts.

Jaeden Bull, Ethan Childs, Isaiah Hynson, and Ben Sachse are also expected to make an impact at the guard position, coming to Bridgton from other states.

Bull and Childs each offer defensive versatility while varying in size. Bull is more of a traditional lead guard that can direct traffic and play with pace while Childs is more of the combo guard mold.

Hynson is a southpaw scoring guard with on/off ball shooting versatility out of Delaware and Sachse enters the United States ready to hit the ground running.
