ZG Mass Madness Preview

The fourth full installment of the Zero Gravity Path to the Belt takes place this weekend with Mass Madness, the final precursor before next weekend's Battle for the Belt.

The previous three weeks have seen different winners emerge with each passing weekend. The Boston Bobcats took the top prize in the varsity division at last week's HoopFest but this week the Middlesex Magic, who won the Fall Brawl two weeks earlier, have retribution on their minds with head coach and program director Michael Crotty Jr. back on the sideline, not to mention their Reidy team in action as well. They'll have their hands full though as Expressions Elite brings the full weight of their program to the table this weekend with both their 16 and 17u EYBL teams playing in the varsity division along with their Gold squad. Add Rise Above Basketball to the mix, and you have a super pool with five top programs battling it out this weekend.

The 10th grade division could feature a potential collission between two previous champions from this fall. While the Boston Warriors took the top prize last weekend, New England Blizz and Middlesex Magic did so at the previous stops, and with both returning to the field this weekend, there could be a rubber match in store for Sunday evening. In fact, the Magic will be looking to duplicate their success from that opening Fall Brawl weekend when they swept the two eldest divisions of the event. Some of the other top competition will come from the likes of Brockton Reign, Mass Elite, Rise Above, ASA, and Expressions Red.

Perhaps the most competitive division of the weekend is in the 9th grade where BABC returns to the field and looks to join winners from past weekends including Team New England, Boston Bobcats, and Bay State Jaguars among others. Team New England, Expressions Green, Middlesex Magic, and many more will also contend for this weekend's championship.
