Zink Earns D1 Scholarship

St. Andrew's School has produced their latest division I big man as post-graduate Nevin Zink committed to USC Upstate on Sunday according to Saints' head coach Michael Hart.

Zink is a Connecticut native who previously attended 22-Feet Academy in South Carolina before coming to Rhode Island for his post-graduate season.

He exceeded expectations from the very beginning, carved out an important role in the rotation, and helped St. Andrew's make a run to the finals of the NEPSAC AA tournament.

"He's one of the hardest working kids we've had," Hart told NERR. "He has only scratched the surface of his ability and has a very high ceiling for improvement. His strong work ethic will help him reach his goals."

Zink is a true center who has good size in the middle and a blue collar mentality. He plays with maximum effort, rebounds diligently, has a soft touch around the rim, and can impact the game inside the paint on both ends of the floor.

USC Upstate is a division I school in South Carolina that is moving to the Big South Conference next year.

Below are some of Zink's highlights from the recent season.
