Zimmerman Heads to Hamden

Last weekend, Cushing Academy/NY Renaissance EYBL 6’5” guard Jaden Zimmerman announced his commitment to Quinnipiac for the 2024-25 season. Zimmerman’s decision to compete in the MAAC for the next chapter of his career came despite receiving offers from 12+ other low/mid major Division I programs.

“I just want to take this moment and opportunity to thank everyone who supported me throughout my journey,” said Zimmerman in talks with NERR. “I want to tell the kids who think about giving up to NOT,” he advised. “Anything is possible… just got to stay committed and beat the odds when they’re stacked against you,” he concluded.

The Bronx native came to New England last summer when he transferred to Cushing Academy to compete in NEPSAC Class-AA and the NEBL for the 2023-24 season. He started leaving impressions right away, scoring 18 points with 6 rebounds, 3 assists, and 2 steals in a win over the Academy of Central Florida at the National Prep Showcase to kick off the season.

He earned recognition for his performance all season long, as he was named to the ZG Prep Classic All-Academic Team and earned MVP honors at the St. Andrew’s Holiday Classic in December, ultimately going on to earn NEBL and NEPSAC Class-AA Honorable Mentions to close out a great year of New England prep basketball.

It comes as no surprise that we’ll be seeing Jaden Zimmerman competing at the Division I level, and he won’t have to travel too far, as he’ll be staying right here in New England to join the Bobcats of Quinnipiac.
