ZG Mass Madness - Event Preview
This weekend's Zero Gravity Mass Madness tournament marks the midpoint of the annual Battle for the Belt.
It all started two weeks ago with the Fall Brawl, an event that kicked off the fall circuit by hosting hundreds of teams throughout the South Shore and the Metro West region. The Boston Bobcats, Middlesex Magic, Team Sims, and Massasoit Warriors were among the programs to capture championships in that initial weekend while individual prospects like Tommy Dunn, Obinna Uguwazki & Ben Rice started to make a name for themselves.
The action ramped up a notch last weekend as week two's BEAST of the East saw Expressions, Mass Rivals, Rhode Island Elite, Team Spartans, and Middlesex Magic Crotty all make their respective debuts. Rhode Island Elite put together an inspired effort to capture the championship behind the trio of Josiah Perez, Sebastian Thomas, and Jadon Archer.
With only the NERR Hoopfest and Battle for the Belt left remaining after this weekend, there's no doubt that the quality of the competition will only continue to rise this coming weekend as the fields have continued to grow in both depth and talent.
