ZG Fall Brawl Preview

Zero Gravity FALL BRAWL invades the U, Kingston, Mass Premier and MPlex with an extremely large and talented field for the second stop on the Path to the Belt fall circuit. Action only gets more intense next weekend at the annual BEAST of the EAST presented by HoopRootz.
Here are some teams in the high school divisions to keep an eye on going into the weekend:

11th grade:

BABC
Redemption Christian Prep
Beantown Bulls
b2L Black
eXpressions Elite

After a strong showing at the ZG Fall Tip-Off the 11th grade field should have quite a challenge with unseating this past weekend’s champ in the Varsity National Division: Redemption Christian. Led by high-scoring guard Ziv Baisden, RCA will look to bring home a championship in back-to-back weeks – but that won’t come without facing some stiff competition.

In their first action of the fall, eXpressions will be led by the dynamic duo of Rivers School star Jermaine Samuels and recent New Hampton transfer Kimani Lawrence. The competition to get there will be tough, but there is a tremendous amount of excitement considering a potential finals matchup with Nike rival BABC.

BABC, who saw their 9th and 10th grade teams both with championships last week at the ZG Fall Tip-Off, will look to count on their strong stable of guards – including Justin Mazzulla, Jakigh Dottin, and Javaughn Edmonds. B2L, coming off a strong weekend where Nate Freeman was burning the nets down with his hot three-point shooting, should prove to be a tough competitor against the best teams at the event. Keep a close eye on Beantown Bulls as well, who made the American Division title game this past weekend behind the play of Jamal Allen while playing shorthanded.

10th grade:

BABC
Springfield MIG's Team
eXpressions Elite
SS Wolfpack-Coyle

It will be a tall task for opposing teams to bring down BABC this weekend after they brought home the 10th grade championship last weekend in a dominant performance led by Cole Swider, Shandon Brown, and Mykel Derring. Expressions Elite’s 10th grade squad, led by Daman Tate, Preson Santos, and Nyzair Rountree, will see their first action of the fall season and should provide quite a formidable challenge for defending champ BABC while working their way to the top of the rankings//. Springfield MIG’s and South Shore Wolfpack will both be bringing talented groups as well, look for both teams to make a deep run into the finals on Sunday.

9th grade:

BV Chaos
BABC
eXpressions Elite
Rise ABove-Carter

BV Chaos, Rise Above, and eXpressions all start their fall season this weekend while looking to jump their way up the ZG Rankings. For BABC, no team they played against came close last weekend as Matt Cross, Quest Harris, and Judson Martindale led a dominant charge where BABC outscored opponents 310-91 in four games. Expressions will bring a loaded bring of young guys looking to take down rival BABC, led by sharpshooter Jamari Foy, Leo Edo, and swingman Jalen Samuels.
