Zabo Calls It

Brewster Academy rising senior guard Kevin Zabo made a verbal commitment to San Diego State on Saturday afternoon.

Zabo is a Canadian native who spent his freshman season at St. Mark's before transferring to Montrose Christian.  He returned to New England for his junior season in Wolfeboro and is set to rejoin the Bobcats for his senior season.

The six-foot-two guard runs with CIA Bounce on the AAU circuit and is known for his strong skill set and balanced floor game.

San Diego State made him a priority this summer while he also reportedly held offers from George Washington, Illinois, Iowa State, and West Virginia.

Zabo is the first player to commit to San Diego State in the class of 2014, but the third member of Brewster Academy's 2013-2014 team to make his college decision as he joins Chris McCullough (Syracuse) and Isaac Copeland (Georgetown).

Here's a look back at our conversation with Zabo following a strong performance at last winter's National Prep School Invitational.
