Yale Lands Big Commitment

It was a cold weekend in Connecticut as an early winter storm resulted in unprecedented power outages across the state, but that was hardly enough to keep the coaching staff at Yale down after they landed a big commitment Sunday morning from Justin Sears, a six-foot-seven forward from Plainfield High School in New Jersey.

Sears is a high-level athlete best known for his dominance on the defensive end of the floor.  He was widely recruited throughout the Ivy League and even took an official visit to Stanford earlier this month.

At Yale, he projects capable of playing a couple of different frontcourt positions and creating mismatch problems on both ends of the floor thanks to his athleticism and ability to face the basket to create his own shot.

Sears joins point guard Jack Montague, from Tennessee, in Yale's 2012 recruiting class.
