Williams Picks Post
Brimmer & May and Mass Rivals guard Ta’Quan Williams announced his commitment over the weekend to Post. They are a Division Two program that competes in the CACC.
Williams began his high school career at Catholic Memorial. During the 2019-20 season, he helped lead the Knights to 15 wins while earning Catholic Conference All-Star honors.
After the COVID-19 Pandemic, Williams decided to transfer to Dexter Southfield and become a member of the 2023 class. He stood out during his first full season against NEPSAC competition, earning ALL-NEPSAC Class B honors.
For his final year of prep competition, Williams wanted to test himself at the AA level. This came with a move to Brimmer & May. He was a starter on a Gators squad that won 20 games and made it to the AA Semifinals. Williams' play also earned him ALL-NEPSAC Honorable Mention honors.
He played his last year of AAU basketball for Mass Rivals on the Adidas 3SSB circuit. Williams was part of a team that won the 3SSB Open Championship in Los Angeles, California and went 15-4 overall during 3SSB play.
"Ta'Quan has improved his decision-making as a point guard," said Brimmer & May head coach Tom Nelson. "He has combined his ability to score with his leadership qualities so that he can be a better lead guard. Ta'Quan will do well at Post because of his tenacious defensive ability and extremely high work ethic."
Williams becomes the second member of Brimmer’s 2023 class who has finalized their plans to play college basketball next year at the scholarship level.
