Wildens Makes His Pick
Gould Academy and Mass Rivals big man Wildens Leveque announced his verbal commitment to South Carolina and head coach Frank Martin on Friday.
He had previously trimmed his list to just three schools - South Carolina, VCU, and UMass - after taking official visits to all three.
He confirmed his decision via a video on his twitter account.

Leveque was totally raw and virtually completely new to the game of basketball when he first joined the Rivals as an underclassmen. He's made great strides in that time and in particular over the course of the last thirteen months since arriving at Gould.
“He’s a big man that wants to be a big man and is willing to surrender and be coached,” Gould head coach Cory McClure told The State in South Carolina. “The beauty of him is he has no delusions of being anything other than a big man. Really refreshing from that perspective."
The 6-foot-10 big man continues to have his best days ahead of him and provides a true post presence but one with enough versatility to face the basket out to about 15 feet.
For Leveque, part of the allure of South Carolina was the opportunity to play for Martin.
“He just likes me as a player. He sees I had a lot of growth in my game,” Leveque told The State. “He sees me running the floor, you know, big man that could grab boards, expand my game, block shots. Finish around the basket, expanding my game throughout the years. He sees me like a Chris Silva."
He becomes the third member of the Rivals 2019 class to commit so far this joining his Gould teammate Boo Buie (Northwestern) and Marianapolis Prep forward Tyler Burton (Richmond).
