Brooks head coach John McVeigh called it a "terrific fit" of player, basketball program, coaching staff, and school, while adding that, "He's earned this with hard work on and off the court. So happy for and proud of Tyler and can't wait to watch what's next for him!"
Rivals' Vin Pastore echoed similar sentiments, "So proud of Tyler Whitney-Sidney and his commitment to Lehigh University where he will play in the prestigious Patriot League. Tyler the quintessential student-athlete whose best quality is his outstanding character. Love you Tyler."
Whitney-Sidney is the fourth member of the Rivals' 2021 class to commit to a division I school as he joins Camaron Tongue (Santa Clara), Lyndel Erold (Brown), and Casey Simmons (Northwestern).
A combo-guard with good positional size and a ton of burst, Whitney-Sidney owns both a dynamic first step as well as terrific end-to-end speed, giving him a ton of playmaking tools.
