Watkins to UNH in ‘15
David Watkins made a verbal commitment to the University of New Hampshire on Monday night, announcing not just his commitment via twitter but also the fact that he's returning to his original class of 2015 and will graduate from Brimmer & May this spring.
I have decided to commit to the University of New Hampshire for the class of 2015 #UNH #Wildcats

Watkins has improved by leaps and bounds in the last two years, expanding his skill set and becoming a consistent shooting threat from the three-point line, while also continuing to add both inches and muscle mass to his frame. He racked up a variety of mid-major scholarship offers in the process.
He averaged 15 points and 7 rebounds this season and came on strong at the end of the season, including a 41 point performance at Cushing Academy.
It was shortly after that performance that several schools, including UNH, started to express interest in him a year earlier than planned. Like most New England prep products, Watkins had reclassified upon his arrival at Brimmer & May and so while he was listed in the class of 2016, this was his fourth year of high school.
He took his official visit to UNH a week ago and played out the remainder of the April Live period before making his commitment.
"I"m just so happy for David," Brimmer & May head coach Tom Nelson said. "It's great to see his hard work and perseverance win out."
Watkins becomes the 6th member of the Mass Rivals AAU program to commit to a division I school in the class of 2015 as he joins Jalen Adams (UConn), Josh Sharma (Stanford), Curtis Cobb (Fairfield), Marcel Pettway (Bryant) and Pat Benzan (Holy Cross).
