Waters set to visit Duke

New England Recruiting Report | Friday, September 4th, 2015

South Kent junior point guard Tremont Waters is set to take an unofficial visit to Duke this weekend, multiple sources have reported this week.

The Connecticut native was a quick star in the prep ranks and scored the 1000th point of his career last year as just a sophomore, proving an uncanny ability to put the ball in the basket against bigger and more experienced competition.

He continued to take his game to new levels this spring and summer on the Adidas Uprising circuit with the New England Playaz as he found a more efficient balance between looking for his own offense and distributing to those around him, all of which culminated with a trip to Adidas Nations in August.

His evolution has been noticed by college coaches and national evaluators alike. Waters is currently ranked 35th in the national class of 2017 by ESPN, 40 by Scout.com, 44 by Rivals.com and 54 by 247 Sports - marking the first time he's been nationally ranked by every major outlet.

As he returns to South Kent for his junior season, Waters will be surrounded by more talent than ever before including Syracuse pledge Matt Moyer, fellow ESPN 100 product Myles Powell, Georgetown commit Tyler Foster and East Carolina bound swingan Elijah Hughes among others.
