Waters Requests Release
Tremont Waters, the top rated player left in New England's 2017 class, requested a release from the National Letter of Intent he signed with Georgetown during November's Early Signing Period on Saturday.
The news was first reported by ESPN.
Waters initially announced his commitment to Georgetown during an October press conference. Duke, Kentucky, Kansas, and Indiana were also among his final five schools.
He joins Trevon Duval to become the second top national point guard back on the board while programs like Duke, Kansas, Villanova, and Syracuse remain in the market for a point guard in the class of 2017.
Waters spent the first three years of his high school career at the South Kent School before finishing his career at Notre Dame High School in West Haven where he scored his 2,000th career point.
