Unsung Heroes

New England Recruiting Report | Tuesday, December 2nd, 2014

There can be a big difference between playing well and being a team's leading scorer, but unfortunately, the distinction between those two often gets blurred.

Point production leads to recognition, often times regardless of how many shots it took to get there, and so in many ways point production comes in correlation to opportunity more than anything else. Without a certain amount of touches and shots, one doesn't have an opportunity to stand out in the scoring column, but that doesn't mean they still can't play well and impact the game in a variety of different ways.

CoxHub recently looked back on some of the unsung heroes of the National Prep Showcase - a list that included nine different players from around New England - and we'll be on the lookout for similar things this weekend at the Hoop Mountain Prep Classic as we want to know not just who scored points, but who truly played well.
