Unsigned Senior Spotlight - Vondre Chase

Vondre Chase's physical tools and potential have always been undeniable, but we've seen him take a significant step forward within the last year.

Following his graduation from Beaver Country Day School, Chase opted for a post-grad year. He seemed like the ideal candidate in many ways as the extra year would help his skill-set and game catch-up to his physical gifts.

Given the opportunity to be a signature piece of Woodstock's Blue team, that is exactly what we saw this year as he stuffed all columns of the stat sheet, showed tremendous versatility while still maintaining vast upside in the coming years.

Recommendations

"Vondre Chase is a special talent in many ways. He's a match up nightmare for the opposing teams. With his size, length and skill set, you can place him in multiple positions and he'll have success. College coaches must know that they are getting a modest young man who wants to work and win games with his teammates."
- Denzel Washington, Head Coach, Woodstock Academy Blue

"Very strong work ethic, above average athleticism, picks ups concepts and techniques quickly on the court and can apply them right away...Shows continuous improvement daily in speed, agility, strength, quickness, shooting stroke, and motor...Strong character, ideal teammate, loves the game...He will continues to improve at a strong pace.  His best years are ahead of him."
- Peter "Rep" Reppas, Professional Trainer

"Vondre is an extremely hard worker and an exceptional skill set for someone of his size. He’s a winner and is willing to do what it takes for team to win. He can score it at all 3 levels and defend 4 positions on the floor and is also an amazing rebounder. Vondre will be a great addition to whichever program he lands at."
- Antonio Anderson, Head Coach, Lynn English & Team Loyalty

Scouting Report

There's no doubt that Chase is a scholarship level athlete. He covers the court like a legit big wing at 6-foot-6, has a terrific frame that should only keep evolving in a college weight room and good athleticism with a 39-inch vertical. His physical tools along with the continued progression in his skill set should allow him to play and defend multiple positions at the next level. He's a two-way playmaker who takes pride in his ability to impact the floor on the defensive end where he'll fly around the court to jump into passing lanes or even block some shots from the weak-side and can finish possessions as well as an excellent rebounder from the wing. Offensively, he can make momentum changing plays as a runner and finisher in the open floor but he also has the versatility to start the break and push the ball himself.
