Turner Heads Back Down South
Last weekend, Williston Northampton/The Skill Factory EYBL 6’10” forward Nehemiah Turner announced his commitment to Central Arkansas to compete in the ASUN Conference at the Division I level.
Turner came to New England from Florida, where he was a top-ranked recruit for the class of 2023, competing with Auburndale for the high school season and Team Speights for the grassroots season. He had already received a D1 offer from Tennessee State.
Last summer, he made the decision to transfer to Williston Northampton in Massachusetts to complete a post-grad year and get some experience playing in the highly competitive NEPSAC Class-A.
It took very little time for him to impress, turning heads throughout the open-gym season. In a scrimmage against Power 5-AAA squad Springfield Commonwealth, he put on a 30 point/10 rebound double-double performance.
He stood out at the Scholar Roundball Classic in a tough battle with local powerhouse Rivers, scoring 19 points and grabbing 7 boards, also tallying Williston’s only block in the loss.
He was even more dominant at the HoopHall Prep Showcase, leading the game with 23 points, 12 rebounds, and 3 blocks in a win over West Nottingham (MD)
He was a consistent leader throughout the year, ultimately earning both All-WNEP and All-NEPSAC recognition to close out an incredible year of New England prep basketball.
It will be exciting to track his progress at the NCAA Division I level with the Central Arkansas Bears for the next chapter of his career.
