Thompson Still Open
On Friday morning, various media outlets were beginning to circulate a report that Brewster Academy senior forward Taurean Thompson had cut his list to four schools - Syracuse, Georgetown, Seton Hall and Providence.
However, later that day Thompson's latest scholarship offer came from the University of Kansas, shedding light on the fact that earlier reports were not accurate.
Thompson's mother, Sherese Piper, was able to clarify the situation that afternoon.

"As of now those have been the schools that have been in contact with him the most," she said of the schools referenced in the initial report. "Kansas offered recently. Louisville, Pittsburgh and Wake Forest have also shown interest. He's focusing on finishing the year strong academically and on the court, helping his team win the last few games of the season."
"Our family will visit a few schools during the spring break then we will go from there."
With only a couple weeks left in the regular season before the NEPSAC tournament and National Prep Championship, Thompson's recruitment may be nearing an ending but there is apparently still time for others to get involved. Thompson, a physically gifted forward from New Jersey with increasing face-up skill, is one of the best available frontcourt players left on the board in the national class of 2016.
