Teng Taking Next Step at Michigan State
2024 Bradford Christian Academy & Mass Rivals guard Kur Teng announced his commitment yesterday live on 247Sports to Michigan State.
Teng quickly made a name for himself in New England with his standout play as a freshman at Manchester West. He poured in 30 points during his first ever varsity game.
After his first season at Manchester West, Teng decided to transfer to Bradford Christian Academy and move into the 2024 class. His first season in NEPSAC AA was impressive. He helped lead the Sentinels to the AA Title Game and National Prep Championship appearance. Teng also earned ALL-NEPSAC honors.
His junior season at BCA was one to remember as well. His multi-level scoring ability helped the Sentinels make it to the Final Four of both the AA Playoffs and National Prep Championship. Teng’s standout play earned him ALL-NEPSAC honors again too.
He competed on the Adidas 3SSB circuit for Mass Rivals. Teng proved to be one of the better players in this circuit, averaging 14.3 points, 4.1 rebounds, and 1.5 steals. He also made 2.3 three-pointers per game at a 37.5% clip. His standout play led to team success. Mass Rivals went 15-4 overall and won the 3SSB Open Championship in Los Angeles, California.
“Michigan State is a perfect offensive system for Kur,” said BCA and Mass Rivals head coach Vin Pastore. “They use a lot of pindowns and floppy action to get their guards open looks.”
“Kur is at his best when he is constantly moving as he scores in a variety of ways. Michigan State is getting a high level basketball player but an even better person.”
Teng becomes the first member of BCA’s 2024 class to finalize their plans on playing Division One college basketball.
