Tabor is Big East Bound
Sacred Heart High School junior Nate Tabor made an early commitment to St. John's on Thursday.
The news was first tweeted by Zach Braziller from the New York Post and shortly thereafter by Evan Daniels on Fox Sports 1.
Tabor is currently the top ranked prospect in New England's class of 2020 and the only local product included in the ESPN 60. He began his high school career at Sacred Heart but transferred briefly to Our Savior New American as a sophomore before returning last winter and is now putting up huge numbers to start the season.
Tabor shares a guardian with current St. John's junior and former Sacred Heart star Mustapha Heron and while the two aren't currently expected to play for the Johnnies at the same time, he is nonetheless still following in his footsteps.
A product of the New York Rens, Tabor started on the program's EYBL team last year and has also made appearances at a number of prestigious events including Nike Elite One Hundred and USA Basketball Mini-Camp.
Tabor is a versatile perimeter player who has good size at 6-foot-5 but might be at his best facilitating for those around him with his passing skills.
Below are some of his highlights from last July's Nike Peach Jam.
